The React Native Rewind is a newsletter. This page says what the website measures, what it stores, and how to change your mind.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we send your email address to MailerLite, which runs the list and the confirmation email. We also store how you arrived: campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content), the referring site, the first page you landed on, where on the site the form was, and the issue number when you subscribed from one. An anonymous analytics id is stored on that subscriber record so a confirmed signup can be tied to the earlier page view. The email address itself is not sent to analytics.
PostHog
Product analytics run on PostHog, hosted in the EU (project data in EU Cloud). The browser talks to PostHog through this site at /ingest, not directly to PostHog's domain. We never call identify, and we do not create a person profile from your email.
Before you choose, and if you reject: PostHog keeps its id in memory for that tab only. It does not set a PostHog cookie or write its id to local storage. Page views are still recorded for that tab, with IP anonymisation turned on in the PostHog project. Session replay and heatmaps stay off.
If you accept: PostHog stores its id in a first-party cookie and in local storage, and may record a session replay and heatmaps. Replay masks every input, including the email field. The anonymous id from before you accepted is kept, so the landing page view and a later signup belong to the same visitor.
Your choice
Accept and Reject are stored in local storage under rw_consent, with the time you chose. That single entry is what lets us remember the choice instead of asking on every page. It is not an advertising cookie. Footer → Cookie settings opens the banner again.
First-touch attribution (the campaign parameters and referrer above) is kept in session storage until you accept. After Accept it is also written to a first-party cookie, rw_attr, for 90 days. Rejecting removes that cookie. Either way, the value from the current tab is what we send if you subscribe in that visit.
Other measurement
Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are cookieless. A cookieless Umami page counter is still on the site until PostHog has been checked in production; it will be removed after that. We do not run a Reddit pixel, and we do not send subscription conversions to Short.io.
